During my time at HBG Design, I gained valuable insights into the world of design and collaboration. Along with seven other interns spread across HBG's three offices, we collaborated on a dynamic venue concept inspired by a real-world client project: a rooftop dining destination. As part of our design exploration, we conducted population studies to understand the surrounding market. Our research revealed a strong demand for diverse dining options, particularly among the growing Asian population in the area. Based on these insights, our group developed an Asian-inspired restaurant concept with a Southern flair, drawing inspiration from the elegant lotus flower.

My internship provided an amazing opportunity to learn and grow alongside my fellow interns. Collaborating with such a diverse and talented group allowed us to share ideas and insights that enriched our experiences. This hands-on experience enabled me to apply classroom knowledge to practical situations, helping me understand the nuances of designing spaces that are both functional and inviting. Overall, this internship was instrumental in shaping my career aspirations in the hospitality industry.
